Our Family Legacy

A Century of Agriculture

The Dail family has been involved in the agricultural industry for over a century. The family farm has evolved significantly during this time. From backyard poultry and swine production to tobacco and row crop farming, the family grew with the industry into commercial swine and poultry facilities, which eventually evolved into manufacturing and retail.

A Century of Agriculture

The Brothers' Beginning

Edward and Henry Dail were born and raised in Kenansville, NC. Their father, Paul Ed, included them in the family farming operation at a very young age and put them in business together after high school. Their first venture together was the construction of a 250 head sow farrowing operation under contract with Carroll's Foods. They eventually grew this farm to 1,450 head of sows. In years that followed, they constructed and purchased other swine and poultry facilities.

The Brothers' Beginning

Manufacturing Origins

In 1991, while constructing their new swine finishing buildings, Edward & Henry began manufacturing their own penning for these houses. They started this operation in a tobacco pack house behind their childhood home. One year later, they constructed the facility that is now Dail Brothers and began manufacturing penning for other area farmers.

Manufacturing Origins

Retail Expansion

After several years, the brothers added a retail store to their manufacturing business. They began selling fence supplies and installing pasture fences for local farmers. Over time, they added a variety of livestock equipment and animal health supplies to cater to the growing number of cattle farmers in the local area.

Retail Expansion

A New Generation

In 2010, Edward and Henry divided their farming operation, which included Dail Brothers. Edward and his wife Cindy retained ownership of the business until his death in 2021. Their daughter, Shannon, now owns and operates the business, while their son Westley owns and operates the farming operation. In 2024, a new product line of custom metal signs was added to the business under a new venture called “DB Shigns”. Shannon wanted to further utilize the company’s industrial Trumpf laser machine that her father purchased in 2016. This machine has many capabilities that continue to provide new opportunities for the business.
